Leon Draisaitl’s fiancée Celeste Desjardins posted an emotional farewell on Instagram to Cody Ceci and the family that followed. Ceci was traded from the San Jose Sharks to the Edmonton Oilers.

then Ceci thanked his Oilers fans and shared a photo with Leon Draisaitl, and Desjardins. His caption read, And Leon Draisaitl also posted about Ceci before his trade became official. He then shared some photos that seemed to show a friendly relationship between them. Draisaitl captioned,
Cody Ceci, 30, scored 25 points (five goals, 20 assists) in 79 games last season. He also scored five points (two goals, three assists) in 24 Stanley Cup playoff games. The Oilers then traded Ceci and the 2025 NHL Draft third-round pick to the Sharks for defenceman Ty Emberson.
And then the Oilers were looking to overhaul their roster for the new season, before they lost to the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Cody Ceci will then be playing in the final year of his four-year, $13 million contract signed by the Oilers. He has scored 211 points in 786 NHL games and 19 points in 88 playoff games. He was praised by San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier for his strong defensive skills, penalty killing and playoff experience.
