NHL veteran Ian Cole discussed his new team, the Utah Hockey Club, and then talked about the obvious names the new franchise could adopt next season. On Friday’s episode of “Utah Puck Report,” Cole discussed his champion for the name “Utah Yeti.”
When asked what his favorite name would be among the final six alternates, Cole said that he and his family had not yet chosen a name. Although they all said the name was chosen by fan vote, Cole liked “Utah Yeti” because it sounded cool.
And when host Jay Stevens said that many players were liking the name “Yeti,” Cole agreed. He then said that he hadn’t talked about the name with his teammates, but he thought the name “Yeti” would be popular.
Talking more about the guys he has played with, Cole said:
Cole, who won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017, has played for several NHL teams. He was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in 2007 and has since played for the Penguins, Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Lightning and Vancouver Canucks.
Ian Cole said he is passionate about starting the season with his new team and is raring to go.
