Equipment will go to local military children from the UHL

Collectively with the Colorado Avalanche and Kroenke Sports Charities, the National Hockey League Players’ Association has provided 25 new sets of gear to the United Heroes League. Thanks and support come from the NHLPA Goals & Dreams program and Avalanche’s Devon Toews to assist young military kids in getting the gear for the game.

“I am happy that it is 25 sets of hockey equipment, thank you to NHLPA Goals & Dreams, to the kids from the United Heroes League who need it,” said Devon Toews, the NHLPA, and the defenseman of the Colorado Avalanche. ‘Through supporting their hockey adventure, it is believed they will fully understand the game we all love.

The Impact of Hockey Equipment Donations on Military Communities

This donation from Devon Toews and NHLPA Goals & Dreams will be given to children between the ages of 8-12 hockey associations from Colorado playing seven different teams. These children take part in military charity so that the young athletes who are part of military families can exercise with the right equipment.

We are pleased that these kids will get a full set of hockey equipment donated by NHLPA Goals & Dreams including a new hockey stick from Bauer and a stall in the Avs locker room donated by the Avalanche. On top of that, the kids will get a spectacular first-class hockey clinic on the ice at Ball Arena and in fine style,” added Shane Hudella, President & Founder of United Heroes League. Many of the children have parents in the U.S. and/or the Canadian Forces and the parents together have more than 300 years of and over 40 years of overseas service. It’s an incredibly special group and it means so much that we had the support of so many people for this film.

Devon Toews hockey equipment donation

Islanders Defenseman Devon Toews joined the children for today’s donation announcement at Ball Arena and later, met them for a quick photo session and a hockey practice session. Apart from an opportunity to see Toews, it let the young athletes learn some practical advice from a professional athlete, which made the day even more special for every participant.
